What I didn’t realize at the time is that this kid can LEAP. She’s in gymnastics and man, does it show. I cannot wait until next summer when I can borrow her for an afternoon and get her to hop around outside where the sky – instead of the basement ceiling – is the limit.

We had a great time playing with the shatter proof ornaments, which, once again, were a great hit. The fun meter went off the charts at the point where we tried to introduce the resident 90lb dog into the family portait!

I had a Christmas-themed shoot with Baby E this morning, to test out some theories and hopefully get a few good shots.

These are shot with shallow DoF, mostly natural light, and the assistance of *three* helpful baby wranglers.

The shots I’d wanted to test turned out ok, but need further fine-tuning in type and amount of Christmas lights (also, I think white-wired lights would work better), so no samples of that.

As you can see, the tutu came out again, but Mom had a fantastic hat to go with it!

What I learned this weekend: shatterproof ornaments are a big hit, but Christmas lights are an even bigger win with the ~6 month old crowd.

There’s still a bunch of post-process to do, but I’m pretty happy with these early proofs.

Little E was chipper and patient with her photoshoot this morning, and Mom and Dad were super with clothing changes, location changes, suggestions and … FRAGGLES.

I mean, seriously. See that expression? That’s what happens when you wave Red the Fraggle around. Awesome!

Also, I made that headband to go with the tutu. Never thought I’d be sewing together little rosebuds together for baby props …
